Our Story

Jonas Svensson, former world No. 10 and a two-time semi-finalist at Roland-Garros, and Tore Meinecke, former world No. 46, merged their first names and combined their skills to found JoTo Tennis in 2004.

JoTo Tennis is a company, a tennis school for juniors and adults, and a club.

Friends and players on the professional circuit in the 80s and 90s, Tore asked Jonas, who was then living in Sweden, to join him in Geneva to create a one-of-a-kind tennis school.

 The concept took shape on the courts of a Geneva club where, unfortunately, it could not develop the way Jonas and Tore had hoped.

Tore’s wife, Céline Cohen Meinecke, a former professional player, supported and stood by them in their project to reach their goals.

The tennis school continued to operate on the courts of the Best Western Hotel Chavannes-de-Bogis (now the Everness Hôtel & Resort), while enormous efforts were made to build a covered facility allowing the school to run all year round.
